New Teacher Support
The Alisal Elementary School District provides support, services and training for all new teachers depending on experience and specific needs.
My name is Diane R. Della Maggiore. I am the Human Resources Coordinator for the Alisal Union School District. I facilitate and coordinate services to assist you. This service includes: setting support providers, monthly trainings, observations, planning, coaching, liaison services with universities, credentials and much more. New Teacher Workshop I- 2009-1010
 
Classroom Organization and Management Program ( COMP )
 
The workshops are designed for all teachers. They are mandatory for all Interns and
BTSA teachers in their first year in the district. AUSD Guest Teachers are welcomed.
 
Location: District Board Room
Time: 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Credit: 1 semester unit of district professional growth, for attendance to 15hrs.of training.
(Professional Growth request form needs to be pre-approved.) ..for 09-10 School Year

PRELIMINARY/CLEAR CREDENTIAL 
Preliminary/Clear Credentialed teachers that are in their first or second year of teaching qualify for Monterey County Teacher Induction/Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment  ( MCTIP-BTSA )Program. They will receive support from a BTSA support teacher and Alisal Union School District Coordinator.
It is necessary to formally apply for this program.
Contact the Coordinator of Human Resources Division, Diane R. Della Maggiore to qualify and be referred. The two year program, is the path for a professional clear credential.

INTERNS
Interns who are enrolled in an accredited University Intern Program and receive support from a university supervisor. Also, they have a district,stipended support provider assigned to them. Interns receive on-going district-wide training on curriculum and classroom management.
Interns receive advisement on programs and credentialing from the coordinator. They are on a paid contract while going to school for their credential. They are subject matter competent; by exam, CSET or MSAT passed.

PROVISIONAL INTERNSHIP PERMIT
Interns who have attempted to pass the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) and are  in the process of completing this requirement. They are enrolled in a university program working towards coursework appropriate to their credential. They are provided materials and resources.
These long term emergency credentialed teachers receive district support from an assigned support teacher. They are also assisted by the Coordinator. They are assisting in hard to fill positions, after diligent recruitment. They require approval from the district's Board of Trustees; they will not be assigned to program improvement schools.

SHORT TERM STAFF PERMIT
These are substitutes, who have  passed the California Subject Examination for Teachers ( CSET ) and are in the process of being admitted to a university credentialed program. They are subject matter competent and are assigned to short term assignments, which have become available due to the teacher of record being on a pregnancy leave, surgery, illness, etc.
These Interns are waiting admission to a university program. These are long term substitute teachers that can be assigned to a classroom for longer than 30 school days. They are assisting on a temporary basis. They  receive district support from an assigned support teacher. They are also assisted by the Coordinator.
