Health Benefits

A. The District's obligation for health benefits shall be to pay the cost of the current Monterey County Schools Insurance Group (MCSIG) Plan B or its equivalent for bargaining unit members and their dependents during the term of this Agreement. It is the obligation of the employee to pay the increase in benefits costs in ten monthly installments. A full-time employee who renders a full contract year of service shall be entitled to receive District paid benefits for twelve (12) months.

B. DENTAL INSURANCE
The Board will provide employees included in the unit of representation and eligible family members the Delta Dental Plan to be paid for by the District. These benefits will be maintained at District cost for the term of this Agreement. Beginning on July 1, 1999, the annual maximum on these benefits shall be one thousand, five hundred dollars ($1,500). Beginning on July 1, 2000, the annual maximum on these benefits shall be two thousand dollars ($2,000).

C. VISION SERVICE
The Board will provide employees included in the unit of representation and eligible family members with California Vision Service to be paid for by the District. These benefits will be maintained at District cost for the term of this Agreement.

D. LIFE INSURANCE
The Board will provide each employee in the unit of representation with a fifty-thousand dollar ($50,000) term life insurance policy effective as soon as practical.

E. Part-time employees included in the unit of representation are entitled to a prorated District contribution towards the benefits in paragraphs A, B, C and D of this Article.

F. MEDICARE
The District shall permit the individual members of the unit to elect to participate in Medicare coverage pursuant to the rules and regulations adopted by the Public Employees Retirement System.
